Desired Skills & Experience:
- Working in a team of developers in an agile environment to produce high quality web applications
- Working with both local and international development teams
- Writing a mixture of front end and back end code, integrating into the Rightster platform and services
- Ensuring that sites are developed to be robust, stable and scalable
- Contributing to the architectural design and technology selection processes
- Being an enthusiastic mentor and leader to members of the development team
Really essential to have:
- Strong HTML/XML/CSS/JS/AJAX skills with at least 5 years commercial experience
- Strong coding experience in OO PHP/MySQL in multiple frameworks
- Experience in Zend 2
- Strong understanding of web standards, accessibility, SEO, browser compatibility, developing for mobile devices and image optimisation
- Deep knowledge of emerging technologies, including HTML5 and CSS3
- Commercial experience with code management systems such as SVN and Git
- Experience with integrating Web APIs
- Ability to deliver scalable applications and carry out benchmarking
- Automated browser testing and unit testing (e.g. JSUnit, PHPUnit)
- Experience working in an Agile environment
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong focus on clear and practical documentation
Would be amazing if you had:
- Experience of Zend Framework 2
- Experience working with Flash
- Experience with CSS pre-processors such as SASS and LESS
- Experience with BDD (e.g. Behat)
- Familiarity with Continuous Integration (e.g. Jenkins)
- Expertise in video formats, encoding and live-streaming
- Experience working in and administering Linux
- Experience with bug tracking tools such as JIRA
