Summary:
As the Web Architect on HTC’s global web team, you will be responsible for the planning, design, and construction our global web presence.
This is a hands-on role where you will be directly documenting, designing, coding, and assisting other developers and technical staff to deploy HTC.com web enhancements across the big screen, mobile screen, and social spaces.
Your key responsibilities will be to work with vendors, in-house developers and in-house technical staff to design and craft a stable and sustainable web platform that meets our growing business needs.
You will be expected to create design documents, lead technical investigations, an in general be a SWAT team leader that gets us out of thorny technical situations.

Job responsibilities:
- Own our CMS platform. Work in conjunction with Business and leadership teams to define its use and direction.
- Help define the future of our web platform. Something stable, something scalable, something that does all the wiz bang things the business wants.
- You will be expected to create design documents, lead technical investigations, build prototype code, and instruct junior developers.
- Provide technical leadership and oversight on a vast array of projects.
- Provide technical guidance to management team on CMS solutions, technologies, tools, capabilities, and strategy.
- Work in an agile fast pace environment to build solutions for internal and external customers.
- Work with System Engineers or independently troubleshoot production issues throughout the entire web application stack.
- Optimize the performance of our production stack down to the system level.
- Improve and establish new processes that will take us development unit to new levels of maturity and efficiency.
The successful candidate will have:
- 8+ years of experience as a developer on a variety development platforms and technologies
- 6+ years of experience working on mid to large scale web infrastructures
- 6+ years of experience with a major OO programming language.
- 6+ years of experience with web technologies, TCP/IP, HTTPS, DNS, Certficates, SEO, Tagging, Analytics
- 5+ years of experience with Content Management Systems.
- Excellent Communication Skills, both written and verbal with strong presentation skills
- Able to lead code and design review sessions
- Excellent Problem Solving and Analytical skills
- 4 year degree in Computer Science or related field.
