- Hold the ability to devise, and automate (where relevant), tests covering network impairments (using netem/wanem), unit failures, CPU overload, RAM/HDD exhaustion, etc.
- Need to be capable of network setup and configuration including VLAN structures.
- SNMP configuration and monitoring; syslog for monitoring and debugging .
- Possess a high degree of competence in Windows and UNIX based operating systems.
- Have an awareness of Internet technologies, protocols and standards .
- Have a good working knowledge of programming in Python or C# and Unix shell scripting .
- Hold an appreciation of the use of cryptography and associated concepts in IT security .
- Contribute to the planning, designing and execution of highly effective and comprehensive test specifications
- Contribute to component integration test planning, designing and execution
- Contribute to the planning, designing and execution of all aspects of system testing to assure functionality, integrity, performance, reliability and robustness of deliverables
- Plan, design and execute product interoperability testing with third party application software
- Contribute to the review process of project documentation, integration guides, product literature and release notes.
- Provide reliable estimates of task duration and ensure timely completion of agreed deliverables
- Reporting to management through concise and coherent status updates and test reports
- Work closely with the Test & Integration Manager to enhance test methods and procedures, improve processes and standards to assure highest quality standards are achieved across all released deliverables
- Assist with the maintenance and ongoing development of the test infrastructure, platform(s) and environment
