Job Description:

1. Designs/codes applications following specifications using the appropriate tools

2. Leads a project-constituted development team to implement a technical and/or functional module of the base software.

3. Acts as a subject matter expert and mentor to more junior developers

4. Maintains and modifies existing applications on their own as well 

5. Works with standard development tools (Eclipse, Subversion, Ant, etc.) on a local development workstation.

6. Uses Jira issue tracking to work on enhancement and maintenance cases.

7. Implements code based on established paradigms using the Spring and Hibernate frameworks.

8. Works closely/communicates well as a representative of the J2EE development team with the CM, product, QA, documentation, support and implementation teams.

9. Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS:

Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, MIS degree, or equivalent on-the-job experience is preferred.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

1-4 years experience in mid-tier coding using J2EE, preferably including EJB, servlets, JSP, JMS, JDBC, SQL, Spring and Hibernate.

TECHNICAL SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Experience with JBoss and/or Websphere, relational data, Sql Server Reporting Service (SSRS), Java and J2ee projects (Spring Framework/Hibernate/JDBC), Java Web Start, Java Service Wrapper (Windows environment), Window Services, shell scripts, LDAP. Experience with Site-minder single sign-on and BRPM systems a plus.
• Ability to use the App Server to generate and analyze performance stats, generate thread dumps, analyze JMS performance issues, use Sql Server tools to query and analyze performance stats, write Sql to query, fix or update data, write Java code, analyze Windows and Unix/Linux Server performance numbers.

• -Proactively communicate development-level scope and schedule changes to management
• -Act as an SME and mentor to junior developers.
