The Technology Services Group – Application Development (TSG-AD) function is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining IT solutions/applications for all business areas of the bank.
Job Description:
As a lead member of the Application Development staff, the candidate would lead solution implementation/ technical team and participate in the development and implementation of internal and mission critical external distributed applications. The position is for an experienced senior professional who has very strong experience leading, developing and implementing solutions using the J2EE, SOA, BI/DW, EDA architectures. The candidate will be involved in the entire project life cycle (requirements review, technical design, development, deployment and maintenance).
Responsibilities:
- Lead design and development team to build application design and analysis models at early stage of the project
- Select appropriate solution patterns and assists development team in implementing the solutions
- Partner with architecture team to define the solutions and realize architecture blue print into implementation solution components
- Develop various solution project documents such as solution alternatives, solution recommendation, package diagram, deployment diagram, design-level class diagram, sequence/activity/communication diagrams, BPM diagrams, platform specific component diagrams, and non-functional design considerations deliverable
- Assist the development manager to manage technology risks on a project and perform meaningful feasibility studies
- Develop specifications to integrate with legacy applications leveraging web services, messaging and advanced SOA platform
- Contribute toward developing solution guidelines, standards and best practices
- Review platform specific detailed code components and ensure alignment of code to the defined solution
- Work with quality assurance team to define test environments and also non-functional test cases
- Work with infrastructure team to validate physical system requirements and solution alignment
- Technical skills required for the job:
- Highly skilled solution implementer who has worked on different technology platforms
- Experience in implementing solutions leveraging open source products as well as COTS products
- High level understanding various products that make up reference architecture and constraints
- Review platform specific detailed code components and ensure alignment of code to the defined solution
- Work with quality assurance team to define test environments and also non-functional test cases
- Strong hands on development in Java/J2EE technologies
Requirements:
- At least 10+ years of relevant work experience in distributed application Development. Includes strong experience with various J2EE components, services, reporting solutions.
- At least 10 years of experience with solution building and delivering mission critical, fault tolerant applications.
- Minimum five years of solution implementation experience
- Deep knowledge of common JEE, Integration, User Interface design patterns
- Preferred experience in implementing solutions leveraging open source frameworks as well as COTS products such as Spring, Struts, LifeRay, Websphere etc
- Strong understanding leading COTS products that make up reference architecture and constraints (J2EE solutions, reporting solutions, integration solutions, portal solutions, mobile solutions, BRE, BPM solutions etc)
- Strong analysis and design skills, including requirements analysis, OO design patterns, and UML.
- Experience in model-driven-architecture and model-driven-development – specifically to produce analysis, design, component and deployment models
- Experience incorporating non-functional design aspects into the code components
- Experience with quality assurance process for testing applications including functional, non-functional and parallel testing.
- Strong understanding of Application resiliency, security, scalability and general performance concepts.
- Strong understanding of enterprise application performance issues and tuning.
- Working knowledge of WebSphere or Eclipse IDE;
- Strong knowledge of SQL, stored procedures (PL/SQL) and database fundamentals (Oracle 11g).
- Ability to lead a team of 3-5 Java developers on various work streams and guide them on development tasks, perform code reviews and ensure design and coding are adhering to architectural standards.
- Experience with MS Project and ability to create and monitor work activities as part of a larger project.
- Ability to collaborate with multiple business and technical teams.
- Strong knowledge of Word, Excel and productivity tools
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work on multiple assignments simultaneously.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills demonstrated by the ability to assimilate new information, understand complex topics and arrive at sound analysis and judgment.
