Position Title: SENIOR HARDWARE ENGINEER LEAD
Location: Sunnyvale, California, US
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Senior Hardware Engineer is a key member of the Hardware Team, reporting to the Director of Hardware Engineering. This is a senior technical leadership role within the company with primary responsibility to scope, propose and implement hardware projects from concept to manufacturing. Strong technical knowledge and presence, with the ability to interact with multiple groups and individuals, with varied skill sets and experience, is required for success in this position.
Key result areas for this position are:
- Propose implement and manage SSG (Systems Solutions Group) projects from concept to manufacturing.
- Mentor, train and support other engineers in the hardware team.
- Contribute to the infrastructure and process improvement of the SSG (Systems Solutions Group) hardware team.
- Manage hardware implementations to deliver a winning customer experience.
Key Activities/Tasks for these positions are:
- Scope and develop requirements, propose and implement hardware solutions, create development schedules and develop hardware specifications.
- Handle customer system integration, testing and develop user documentation
- Perform design review , provide technical leadership
IP Design:
Implementing design and simulation using HDL, perform design place & route, timing Analysis, and IP validation
Board Design:
- Schematic creation; supervise PCB layout, fabrication, assembly and system bring up and debug
- Evaluate and make recommendations to improve hardware development process
- Lead and provide technical support for system integration testing both onsite and offsite
- Hardware Project management
- Adhere to the companies stated environmental improvement goals and standards
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS Electronics Engineering with 10 years of experience or MS in with 8 years of experience in board and IP development.
- Must have experience with schematic capture and board design tools
- Experience with IP design and flow methodology using programmable device
- Strong hands on trouble shooting skills
- Strong digital design capability
- Knowledge of USB, SDIO, MIPI, Video UART, I2C
- Working knowledge of signal integrity issues and tools
- Knowledge and experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzer, logic analyzer
- Experience with systems design and characterization
- Capable to design board level analog circuits using power devices, op-amps, clock synthesizer, etc.
- Excellent communication skills, both in written and verbal form
- Prior experience working with multi-site, multi-cultural teams
- Prior Lead experince is desirable
