IBM's Technical Services Delivery Center located in Hopewell Junction (East Fishkill), New York is seeking entry-level Technical Support Specialists responsible for providing support for z/OS Mainframe Platform on multiple client accounts. This includes supporting problem and change tickets for client support operations. Project tasks are standardized and usually require following a set of repeatable tasks. Some improvements to the routine processes may be identified and implemented.
Responsibilities:
- Support problem and change tickets for the client environments for work involving problem determination and implementation of changes to hardware, software, applications, or network systems. The work is usually routine project work and sets of tasks.
- The various project work that team members perform on a particular account involves a series of repeatable tasks and steps that are followed when addressing service needs or situations for one or more client.
- Pool job roles involve responsibility for accomplishing project work from multiple clients, including planned projects focuses on identifying improvements with a work area or process.
- Team members participate once a day cadence discussion on team performance. These meetings are typically led by the pool manager or Dispatcher. They discuss issues or challenges, and receive trouble-shooting input / advice from other team members.
- They may also discuss team performance trends. Pool team members may also separately interact and exchange information with members of cross-pool teams.
- This position is located on-site in Hopewell Junction (East Fishkill), New York. Remote work is not available. Pager and offshift coverage may be required.
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Basic knowledge in z/OS operating system or other technology
- Basic knowledge in at least one of more of the following: installing, troubleshooting, operating, testing, planning and configuring relevent technologies
- Information Technology
- Basic knowledge in LEAN methodology
- Basic knowledge in data analysis and interest in analytical work
- Basic knowledge in system utilization, trending, and efficiency
