Reporting to: Head of Supply Chain Management
Educational Background and Indicative Years of Experience:
- Graduation/Post graduation in Mechanical Engineering from a reputed institute
- PG Diploma in Materials Management or equivalent will be an added advantage.
- Total experience of 8 - 16 years, with a minimum of five years in a similar capacity.
Overall Functional Scope:
Provide hands-on Leadership support to plan, organize, direct, coordinate, execute and
control the purchase of direct and indirect material (Raw materials, Cutting tools,
Consumables, Capital equipment).
Responsibilities:
- Plan, develop and implement a strategy to operationalize global and local sourcing and purchase develop techniques so as to meet agreed organizational performance plans within agreed budgets and timescales
- Support and ensure all Sourcing & purchases of Raw materials, Capital Equipments,
- Consumables and Services from National & Global Suppliers in a timely & costefficient manner
- Develop global access to raw material and special cutting tools required for
- Aerospace and ONG Industry
- Establish and maintain appropriate systems for measuring necessary aspects of purchase and supplier development and supplier chain management.
- Identifying key contributors in the function and setting up systems to track such critical / key data from time to time, analyzing of the same, getting the team to come up with corrective actions to improve efficiency and performance of the function on the key contributors and ensuring effective implementation of the same
- Carry out spends aggregation or vendor consolidation process for identifying costs saving opportunities
- Lead / Support in designing effective capital equipment and other purchase policies and strategy.
- Interface between sourcing team and members of other function to ensure seamless interaction and execution of cross functional projects
- Interface between sourcing / purchase logistics team and finance in ensuring effective payments to suppliers. Driving home payment policies with suppliers to enable better cash flow mechanism within QuEST
- Setting up processes for supplier selection and approvals for RM, Consumable,
- Cutting Tools and Sub contract sources for outsourcing
- Responsible for developing and highly motivated and structured purchasing team delivering desired results.
- Supporting Manufacturing Engineering in development projects and in terms of timely procurement of RM, Tools and fixtures for New Products and production. Manpower planning, utilization and control of staff members by working closely with Human Resources Department.

- Strong and effective negotiation skills.
- Experience in international sourcing and contemporary sourcing techniques such eauction, supplier consolidation etc would be added advantage
- Should have experience in conducting / coordination annual supplier meets,
- supplier conferences etc
- Self motivated, and energetic with exceptional work ethics.
- Firm and methodical in approach
- Project and budget management skills
Industry Exposure:
Automotive - Companies involved in critical component manufacturing such as
transmission, engine parts, hydraulics etc and supply to OEMS
