Job Description:

The Senior Fire & Safety Engineer is responsible for the design of active and passive fire protection system, fire & gas detection system, safety & survival equipment location, philosophy and datasheet preparation, inquiry and purchase requisitions, bid tabulations, vendor documents review and coordination with 3rd party consultant for safety studies. 

Responsibilities:

• Leads design expertise and deliverables on Active and Passive Fire Protection Systems, Fire and Gas Detection Systems, Life Saving Systems from initial concept, fabrication to installation.
• Takes part in workshops and review meetings for Safety Studies to identify hazards and determine appropriate mitigation measures.
• Provides procurement and inspection support; producing technical bid evaluations of vendor quotations, and making recommendations for vendor award.
• Provides technical support and overview to 3rd party safety consultants and building subcontractor.
• Provides technical support to certifying agencies.
• Leads guidance on compliance with company standards and country legislation relating to Fire Safety hazards and obtaining project and customer approval.

Education: Bachelors of Science in Fire Protection Engineering or Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering

Experience:

• Knowledge and experience with PIPENET or HASS hydraulic calculation software, NFPA codes and standards, SOLAS, API, ABS and other internationally recognized codes and practices for fire protection & safety design.
• 10 plus years of experience in fire protection and safety engineering design work. 

Qualifications:

• Good inter-personal and communication skills.
• Work under minimal supervision.
• Fluent in English and Spanish.
